2011 Parkland Landscapes and Beyond

Canadian artist Nathan Cao paints landscapes with a Western realism perspective while pursuing the beauty of serenity of the East. His paintings depict poetic natural scenery with purity and tranquility.

Since moving to Alberta in 1991, Nathan has renewed his pursuit in sketching and painting. His plein air painting and travel expeditions have taken him to various lakes, rivers, coasts, and the Rocky Mountains of North America. Working mainly in oil, acrylic, pencil and charcoal sketch, and Chinese ink painting, Nathan has been exploring ways to express his deep affinity for the Canadian West landscapes and its environment.

Nathan currently lives in Edmonton, Alberta with his wife Betty and two children. For more than twenty years, Nathan Cao has dedicated part of his time in Art Education through lectures and art classes. His students have been achieving top awards in many national and provincial art competitions in Canada for more than a decade.
